Today is May 18th, 2012.

Domaining – or the process of buying and selling domain names – has been around eversince the internet started. You register a domain name for $10-$20 (or more depending on the extension) per year and what you can do is that you can hold it until someone enquires as to whether you are selling it; you can park it with one of those big parking companies and earn from clicks on the the ads (works well if your domain name is getting a lot of type in traffic); actively search for a buyer who you think will be interested in your domain name; or develop you domain name in to a fully fledged website and business and then sell it later when the traffic or revenue has been stabilized.

Although there are dozens upon dozens of blogs about domaining there is not one structured tutorial for domaining. The information is definitely out there with those domaining blogs but he problem with this is that when a newbie reads a few articles, that person can easily get into something that he or she does not fully understand. Why? Because those established domainers who blog has got in early by registering thousands of domain names and so most of the best and good ones are already taken. And the market has changed and continuous to change as well which basically compound the problems for newbies just reading a couple of blog stories. And that’s why there is a need for a tutorial website that will explain the following:

* how to monetize domain names
* what domain names extensions are profitable
* how to look for buyers
* understanding the current domain market
– why parking is not your best option
– why holding that domain name is the worst option
– steps in developing your domain names
– niches for website development
– etc.

Sadly, there isn’t one that is out there given for free. The information are on established blogs but it takes time to get them, digest them and eventually learn how the market works. Because of these a lot of newbies continue to get burned by registering worthless domain names hoping that one day a buyer will come.

Engaging in this type of tutorial website has its challenges as it just does not require knowledge of the domain industry but it also will require some technical skills such as website development as the trend in domaining is to develop those domain names into viable businesses. And that means creating a website. And off course, the best tool to use is WordPress. Actually a lot of domainers who build sites for their domain names use WordPress as it is the most easy-to-use CMS (Content Management System) application out there. However, you do not need to be a jack of all trades as there are a lot of tutorials out there about website development such as this one which you can reference. Having knowledge in affiliate marketing also helps as the trend is going or has gone there too.

There is definitely a need out there for a tutorial on domaining – the right and sensible way. And the with new extensions coming out soon there is never a good time to own such a tutorial website.
