If affiliate marketing is the food of blogs (because the revenue generated sustains and keeps the blog running) then traffic is the heart beat of each blog out there. Without traffic then the website has no life. And thus, when someone visits your site, it’s important to think of ways to make sure that that visitor comes back. The best weapon is great content.
Then you have your auxilliary weapons. Here are a couple of WordPress plugins that can bring repeat traffic.
Visitors can leave their comments on your blog and when they choose to subscribe to comments, an email is sent to them when someone replies to your visitors comments. This then encourages the visitor who posted the comments to come and visit your website and see what the thread of the conversation is. The beauty about this plugin is that months down the track if another visitor leaves a comment, then the original visitor can come back again and to your website. Click here for more info.
2. What Would Seth Godin Do
This plugin reminds users to subscribe to your RSS feed. RSS stands for Really Simple Syndication and this allows publishers to syndicate content automatically. The benefit for online reader is that they can access various subscription from other websites into just one place. Seth Godin is one of those contemporary marketing gurus who made their money online.
3. WP-Opt In
This plugin is a form with an email input field and a Submit button. It sends an email to users who requests for some information. That information is something that you should create that the user would crave for. A newsletter perhaps? An e-book? When you have accumulated your list of emails, then it is easy to contact then and bring them to a feature article on your website.
Almost the same as WP-Opt In when it comes to functionality. This plugin sends an email when a visitor makes a comment the first time on the website. Your email can then contain an offer to subscribe to your email, offer a free e-book or just say a simple “thank you for visiting” message. Off course, the goal is to be able to get the visitor back to visit your website.
Same functionality as WP-Opt In except that this shows at the bottom of the browser. You can specify the duration prior to it appearing once your website is loaded.
