Today is May 18th, 2012.

A Photoshop tutorial website is an evergreen website. Images are an inherent
part of web pages nowadays. In fact, a web site without any images is dead.
It will not last very long – unless it is a government website. Kidding
aside, photo images and design images are what makes websites really
attractive. They retain user and draw them back in some cases. And that’s
what Photoshop is all about – creating images. Just like any popular
software, whenever there is a new version of Photoshop, that means there are
new features. This is why creating a tutorial website on Photoshop can be
favorable to search engines. Google, Bing, Yahoo – they all like websites
that get continually update because that means that it will presumably
provide more relevant information for users coming to the site. This is one
of the methods on how search engines can determine whether a website is
relevant. Imagine if you have a Photoshop tutorial website five years ago
and it wasn’t update since. Chances are the version being discussed there is
so obsolete that users will not be able to follow any instructional material
there. And search engines hate to index and rank highly these type of
website because users will be turned off with the site and the quality of
search results the search engine is serving. So why do you want to have your
tutorial website favored by the search engines? Well, that’s because you
want the traffic. There’s no use developing a website if you are not bent on
getting traffic. But for a Photoshop tutorial website, you can never go
wrong and you can never run out of topics. Just remember a few of these tips
when you do decide to setup your own tutorial site about Photoshop:

* Create a tutorial post with a clear goal (Is it cropping an image? Is it
replacing the background image with another image?)
* Enumerate the steps to achieve that goal
* Include screenshots so that the instructions will be easier to follow
* Include the PSD file for download
* If you can do a video for the tutorial then so much the better
* Allow for a user to comment
* Be sure to reply to those comments if necessary

There are definitely Photoshop tutorials out there but do not let this deter
you. Always find what is lacking in these sites that users would like to see
in a tutorial website. Look for feedback from users who are coming to your
site and always keep an open mind.

The beauty about having a Photoshop tutorial site is that you can always
have the option to showcase and sell some of the works that you have done.
You can sell it with or without the source codes. You can let other
designers sell their artworks and then you get a commission as well. Another
way to monetize this type of tutorial site is to open up a membership
section where users can read premium tutorials (premium here can be defined
as having the highest level of difficulty). Or you can also have premium
tutorials where you are showing a video tutorial instead of them reading it.

Photoshop is here to stay. And more and more people are going online which
means potentially means that more individuals would like to have their own
website and their own blog. More individuals would like to have their own
business online too. And having images on these sites, i.e. logo design,
etc. means that someone with Photoshop skills will be indispensible.
